OUR PILLARS

MISSION

Born in faith. Lived in courage. Carried as legacy.

Cancer TL;DR is a movement. TL;DR = “too long; didn’t read.”
We keep wisdom short, uplifting, and human. Through three pillars — Hidden Blessings, Living Wisdom Library, and Ashes into Crowns — we bring light to the hardest days so no one faces cancer feeling alone, overwhelmed, or powerless.

We believe cancer can’t steal joy.

Hidden Blessings turns treatment days into treasure hunts of hope —
mustard-seed keychains, heartfelt notes of encouragement, small surprises tucked into waiting rooms — each whispering, God sees you, and so do we.

You are not alone.

We believe cancer can’t erase your story.

The Living Wisdom Library turns pain into service — real voices recorded so others don’t walk in the dark. Every story says,
I am here. My life mattered. I chose to serve others with the time I had.

We believe cancer can’t defeat love.

Ashes into Crowns turns loss into beauty — therapy dogs that steady a shaking hand, horses that stand in quiet understanding, hearts that rise stronger.
Love outlasts the fire.

“Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn’t he leave the ninety-nine and go after the lost one? And when he finds it, he joyfully brings it home…” Luke 15:4-6

OUR PILLARS

Living Wisdom Library

Changing Pain into Purpose — your wisdom becomes someone else’s strength.

This is the World’s First Living Library of Cancer Wisdom — created by those who’ve faced cancer, for those who will. Our goal is to make their journey lighter.

We have all been impacted by cancer — either battling it firsthand or holding the hand of someone we love. This is our legacy for those who come after us. Our testimony that while cancer may steal health, time with our families, and pieces of the life we once knew, it cannot take our hope, our stories, or our choice to serve others.

What was meant for harm, God transforms into good — courage for someone else.

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” — Romans 8:28

Why it matters

Every minute, someone hears the words: “You have cancer.” Their world spins. You can steady it.

Picture sitting on the porch with your best friend — they’ve just been diagnosed with the same cancer you faced. What would you say? That one hard-won piece of wisdom, prayer, or encouragement they need right now, when their life feels forever changed.

This is the moment you step outside your own pain to serve another. The moment you leave the ninety-nine to go after the one who feels lost and forgotten.
(Luke 15:4–6).

“I am here. My life mattered. I chose to serve others with the time I had.”

How it works

Picture sitting on the porch with your best friend

  • Speak to your friend when you make your wisdom video. Don’t climb the mountain in one jump – share just one piece of hard-won wisdom.
  • Couple minutes of your time can mean strength for someone else. We all have something valuable to share. Start with:
  • “I’m a kidney cancer patient/survivor…”
  • “I’m a caregiver for someone with…”
  • Then offer one tip, prayer, or encouragement.
  • Close with courage: “You are not alone. We are with you.”
  • Share your wisdom and watch its impact ignite. We’ll place your story in the Wisdom Library by cancer type and stage – plus your ribbon will light our Global Map, showing the world your legacy.

Ideas to help get you started:

  • The prayer that calmed me the night before surgery.
  • How I explained my diagnosis to my kids.
  • What helped me eat when nothing tasted right.
  • The one thing I wish I’d known before radiation.

Turn Pain Into Purpose Today

Hidden Blessings

Spark unexpected joy on treatment days.

One cancer patient writes a simple note of encouragement, attaches it to a tiny gift, and hides it in the hospital. Another patient finds it — and for a moment, in a place where joy is rare, the room lights up: “You’re not alone. We see you.”

Why it matters

Treatment hurts. The dread builds every time you have to walk back into the hospital: needles, ice packs, nausea, fear. Hidden Blessings change the rhythm. Writing a note lets you forget about your diagnosis for a moment and imagine a fellow cancer patient smiling when they find your gift. That shift — from being overwhelmed to being a giver — is a gift in itself.
And for the one who finds it, it feels like magic. In a space where joy is rare, hope suddenly appears.

How it works

For Patients

  • Write a Note: Before treatment, write a few words of encouragement on a sticky note.
Example: “Hi! You found me! I was left by a fellow cancer patient in hopes I brighten your day. God bless your journey. You are loved!”
  • Pick a Tiny Gift: Something small and cheerful — a keychain, magnet, book, sticker, or even a little crochet critter.
  • Leave the Blessing: If you’re strong enough, hide it yourself in the lobby or waiting room. If not, watch your caregiver place it for you. Both ways count — the act of giving is yours.

For Caregivers

  • Help Gather: Pick out the small gifts alongside your loved one.
  • Hide with Joy: Place them quietly while your patient rests or watches — the sneaky fun is part of the blessing. Mission Impossible music optional.
  • Capture the Moment: Snap a quick photo of the blessing. Upload it to our website, and watch your joy ignite on the global map.

Join the Global Movement

While you sit through long hours of waiting or treatment, you can see your photo spark across the map — joining voices around the world declaring:

“We are here. Our lives mattered.
We chose to spread joy with the time we had.”

Do it Today

  • Leave a Hidden Blessing at your next treatment.
  • Upload a Photo of what you left or found.
  • Watch your spark ignite on the global map.

Ashes into Crowns

Strength Beyond the Storm

Ashes into Crowns is where healing deepens into service. Cancer is a fire. It strips away what we thought defined us — comfort, job security, what seemed stable. But fire doesn’t destroy everything. It refines. Like silver in the furnace, the impurities burn off, leaving behind something more radiant than what we were before. God won’t let us be ruined — He’s shaping us into something timelessly valuable.

“He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver.” — Malachi 3:3

Why it matters

Love outlasts the fire. Healing is more than healing for ourselves — it’s becoming a reflection of the One who made us.

Scars become crowns when we turn outward: when what we’ve suffered becomes a story that lights the way for someone still wandering in the dark. Our healing journey changes from survival to service — which is where true healing begins.

“And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.” — 1 Peter 5:4

How it works

Therapy Dogs offering comfort on infusion days.
  • Therapy that Heals, Service that Strengthens.
Whether it’s a horse therapy barn specializing in cancer recovery, a therapy dog offering comfort, or a volunteer giving their time — these acts of love carry power. If you’re part of a therapy team, connect with us so we can shine a light on your work and help patients find you.
  • Scars into Symbols.
Your scars, shaved head, or quiet prayers in a hospital room don’t have to be hidden. Share them as testimony that every mark has meaning — and every moment of courage has weight.
  • Serve Through Sharing.
Post your story or image through the Living Wisdom Library under Life Beyond Cancer or Faith & Mindset. Helping someone see your bravery may be the key they need to keep going.

Cancer doesn’t get to write our ending. Out of the furnace we rise: hearts purified, faith proven, scars that no longer shame but shine. These ashes become crowns.

Every act of courage that puts another first becomes a crown that lights the way for the weary to find hope. That’s the heart of leaving the ninety-nine to go after the one. (Luke 15:4–6)

OUR IMPACT

I am here. My life mattered. I chose to serve others with the time I had.

WHY I STARTED THIS MOVEMENT

Triple Negative Breast Cancer is one of the most aggressive diagnoses a person can receive. The Sunday before my second chemotherapy, I prayed for God to take the cancer away — and in the quiet of surrender, I felt the tumor dissolve under my hand. The next day, my doctors couldn’t find it. Five months later, surgery confirmed what we had already known by faith: the cancer was gone.

But God — there is no other explanation. I’ve seen prayers turn hospital rooms into cathedrals. I’ve seen fear give way to hope, and brokenness become a lifeline for someone else. For seven months in the cancer hospital, I looked into the eyes of people who were afraid, sitting alone and forgotten. Those faces are burned into my heart. Cancer TL;DR is for them — for the “one” among the ninety-nine who wonders if anyone sees them.

If this work helps even one person find courage, hope, or faith in their darkest hour, it will all have been worth it. God did not send me into the fire — He was with me in the furnace (Daniel 3). From that refining came three simple ways to serve: Hidden Blessings that spark joy on treatment days, a Living Wisdom Library that passes the wisdom you fought for forward, and Ashes into Crowns that honors healing.

My story is a song of praise, and my prayer is that voices across the world join in — and if that ‘one’ is you, hear our voices: you are not alone.
